Jo grew up in South-Central PA and attended Ringling College of Art + Design in FL for a year.  She has experience working at camps in her home town, as well as with an art conservation company, and as a freelance artist.  She was grafted into the Camp Susque family as seasonal staff in 2020 and pretty quickly fell in love with everything going on at Susque.  She spent summers filling the roles of Hawk Area Coordinator, Support Staff Director, and Girls Staff in Training Director, until she started working full-time as the Communications Specialist in September of 2024.

Joanna spends her work days writing emails, creating graphics for posts and said emails, designing postcards and newsletters, updating this website, recruiting summer staff, making videos, playing with the camera equipment, managing the Trail’s End camp store, and whatever other semi-communications-related tasks come up.  When she is not working, Jo enjoys watching movies with her friends, drawing & painting, going on walks with her dog, reading, and having spontaneous dance-offs with her sister in their kitchen.  She loves roadtrips, especially if it involves listening to yacht rock and if the destination is a beach.  Jo dreams of one day creating & publishing a graphic novel or two.

Joanna recognizes God’s gracious providence in placing her at Susque, surrounded by an encouraging community, and she looks forward to seeing how the Lord continues to teach & use her there.  Soli Deo Gloria.
