Grace was born and raised in Williamsport, PA but didn’t get connected with Camp Susque until she was an adult. Her first role at Susque was in 2017 as the summer photographer. From there she went on to coordinate the camp’s School of Discovery and also teach pottery and volunteer. When she and her husband, Patrick, got married in 2019 she introduced him to camp. Since then, Patrick has also served in different capacities. They have been working together to run the hospitality department together since 2025, with Patrick taking on the responsibilities of Hospitality Director and Grace doing the work of Food Services Manager. Beyond Camp Susque, Grace has worked in a variety of roles with different organizations, both in Pennsylvania and overseas. Since graduating college in 2011 with a degree in Art Education from Kutztown University, she has taught both Art and English as a Foreign Language to students of all ages and backgrounds and coordinated educational programming in settings including before and after school programs and Susque’s School of Discovery. Within that vein of work she has taught children’s Bible lessons at her church and directed their kids ministry for a period of time. She also worked with a non-profit in Williamsport for a few years to serve community members from different cultures and backgrounds, as a way to welcome others as she was welcomed when she lived overseas.
In addition, Grace worked in food service throughout high school and college and also worked at another Christian summer camp during college, all of which she looks fondly upon. She has always enjoyed cooking and has been an avid home cook for years now, making delicious and nutritious meals for her family and for others. She and her husband have also been gardening and preserving their own food since they got married, which has been a really fun adventure! On a personal note, Grace’s most cherished experiences include her 4 years of living and teaching in South Korea, playing cards with friends and families, and quiet moments of reflection while out in nature. Her favorite food to make is kimchi…or really, any type of Korean food! It reminds her of her years in Korea and the warmth and welcome shown to her by friends and co-workers there. In fact, Grace enjoys cooking Korean food so much that she has made several Korean meals for the year-round staff over the years. She has also gifted her homemade kimchi to Chief Peter on multiple occasions….which might explain how she got her job…*scratches head and ponders*….
Anyway!
Through all of Grace’s life and the many professional and personal experiences, God has always been faithful, making Himself known to her in both ordinary and extraordinary ways. He has deepened her faith in Jesus Christ through the study of His Word and the encouragement of other believers. He has led her and her husband to contribute their talents and passions to camp for God’s glory, and she looks forward to all that may come from it! Praise God!
