Camp Susque Feasibility Study

Please read the letter below, and then click on the links for the Vision Brochure and the Survey.

We are so proud of the many ways God has richly blessed our ministry at Camp Susque. Thousands of children, young adults, and families have had their lives changed and the Kingdom of God has increased. Our participants, programs, and facilities continue to grow, but our mission remains the same - Biblical evangelism and growth in Christian character for youth, young adults, and families.

The leadership team, staff, and I have spent many hours in prayer and evaluation to create a vision to improve our beautiful facilities. Included in this vision are several much needed projects such as expansion of our dining hall, replacement of cabins, renovation of the Nature Den, upkeep of the observatory as well as bigger projects such as construction of a new Central Lodge, replacement of the swimming pool, and renovation of the brick lodge at the recently acquired Mount Zion Retreat Center. We are also excited about the opportunity to re-engage in our “Gap Year” program for high school graduates at the beautiful Mount Zion facilities.

In order to move ahead with our proposed plans, we must assess the level of support among our stakeholders. With this goal in mind, we have brought on some additional help from our new friends at Kirby-Smith Associates, who may be reaching out to you to ask for your valuable feedback on the proposed plans outlined in the Vision Brochure. I ask that you welcome them with hospitality and respond with honesty. All feedback will be held in the strictest of confidence.

If you prefer, when they contact you, you can make arrangements to meet with them personally either at the camp or at your choice of location. Additionally, a survey can be filled out online (link below). Thank you in advance for speaking with them. Most of all, thank you for your faith, your prayers, and your ongoing support of Camp Susque.

Wilderness First Aid Course

April 13-14,2021 Outdoor enthusiasts 18 y/o or older.
$175 (includes room & board)

Wilderness First Aid is an excellent course for wilderness group guides, camp counselors, long trail backpackers, weekend trippers, or someone excited to start their first outdoor adventure.  The "WFA" course will equip students with basic first aid skills intended for places and situations where definitive medical care is more than an hour away.  Students can expect to spend a minimal amount of time in the classroom and a much greater amount of time outdoors practicing newly learned skills and putting them to use in relevent scenarios.

The Wilderness First Aid course is provided through SOLO Wilderness Medicine schools (SOLO) and is a nationally recognized certification that meets American Camping Association standards for trip leaders and can be counted towards continuing education hours for EMTs.  The course can also be used to re-certify a current Wilderness First Responder certification.  The WFA certification is valid for two (2) years from the class date.  It is recommended that the holder of the WFA certification also obtain a nationally recognized CPR certification (SOLO CPR, Red Cross, American Heart Assoc., etc)  Please note: CPR will not be offered with this course.

Students should come prepared to spend time outside (rain or shine) participating in hands on activities that may be physically challenging.
