2017 End of Year Donation

We need your support now more than ever!  Our goal is to steward the resources and facilities we have.  However, rising constructions costs mean that just replacing the bathrooms and building a small addition to Hemlock Hall far exceed the original cost of the entire building!  This is just one example of rising costs; over the years, all costs to continue Susque’s mission have increased significantly.  While our fees have also increased, they have not kept pace with our expenses.  This leaves us with challenging annual deficits and significant difficulties improving our facilities and responding to the extraordinary growth we’ve experienced in recent years.

This year, we have witnessed growth in every category of our camp!  While this is a blessing to celebrate,  increased enrollment alone cannot close the gap between income and expenses.  We rely on donations to close this cap, but this year
we are over $44,000 shy of our fundraising goals.

This kind of shortfall is challenging to absorb, especially in the midst of a construction project.  In the last three years, the response from this End-of-Year letter has had a tremendous impact.  It has allowed us to replenish our Scholarship Fund (blessing 240 different campers!), close the gap between income and expenses, and begin funding Hemlock Hall expansion.

We rely on your response to this letter to help continue Susque’s ministry.  We need to:

  • Close the gap between income and expenses for 2017
  • Replenish our Scholarship Fund
  • Complete Phase 1 of Hemlock Hall

Thank you for considering a gift to Camp Susque! As the year comes to a close, we are grateful for the many people God uses to allow the ministry to continue. We depend on recurring and one-time donations to cover approximately 40% of our budget.

Please prayerfully consider if you can give towards our goals detailed in this letter from our Director, Peter Swift.

Susque's mission is to facilitate Biblical evangelism and growth in Christian character for youth, young adults, and families. Each year, we watch God bring kids to faith in Jesus. Year after year, we see them make decisions to follow after God and learn how to practically live out their faith in today's world. What makes Susque's mission so vital is that for many campers, God uses their time at Susque to slow them down and get a hold on their lives. For many campers, Susque becomes one of their best spiritual memories.

Please take time to prayerfully consider giving financially so that the mission and ministry of Susque can continue!

"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being." Revelation 4:11
